A LiL POeM...

I had to write a poem for one of my core classes at school. I forgot about it until the morning it was due. So I came up with this while sitting in anatomy lecture. It's a personal poem and something I kind of just let flow off the top of my head so here goes...

Regret

Bad choices, stupid mistakes

To risk everything is a chance I take

Should I, no I can't, well maybe just once

One turns to two, two turns to three, three to one hundred

Next thing I know I'm in that same circle runnin

What is done in the dark always comes to light

But every time I turn around, I'm back in that fight

One life to live, a thousand choices to make

But still to this day, I regret that mistake

Something a lil short and deep. As you can see, I have made a few mistakes that I wish I could take back. People say you should live life with no regrets, but is that always realistic? There are just some things in life that should have and could have been done differently. This poem just talks about one of them.

SuPa DuPa FLLYYY!!!!!!

I have always watched "blaxploitation" with my daddy. I really love the movies with Pam Grier. Foxy Brown, Coffy, Sheba Baby, we could watch them for hours. But my daddy's favorite has to be Superfly.

This movie is a CLASSIC!!! Ron O'Neal... you on point! I don't wanna spoil it for the people that have never seen it, but if you haven't... it needs to be peeped by YOU. One of the best parts about the movie was the MUSIC. The soundtrack to this movie is so on deck! If you have an OLD SOUL like me then you will love it too. Curtis Mayfield has made countless hits, and I am so glad he made HIT AFTER HIT for this movie! I think my favorite is Freddie's Dead. My daddy used to sing this to me and my lil sister all the time. The song tells a story and teaches a valuable lesson so LISTEN UP!!!




A friend of mine at school really like this song. It's a hit that I didn't listen to as much, but she really got me on it. I grew up hearing my daddy and granddadddy blast this whole soundtrack throughout the house. This song being in HEAVY rotation.



This song is my granddaddy's favorite! He is so funny when it comes to his music! Always got one of the "grandbabies" burning cds and playing them on the computer. Pusherman is real jazzy... just his style!



My little sister loves this song. She's only 17, but she know what's good! It's a SIG scene with this song playing during the movie. A Nashville rapper named Allstar rapped to this beat too.



Now that's some REAL music.
Much love to the music of today, but it could NEVER compare to the music of those days. CLASSIC MOVIE, CLASSIC ALBUM, CLASSIC CURTIS!!! SUPERFLY!!!!!!

I don't know what's going on in my head right now so ima just type. A struggle for sanity... a perseverance for peace of mind. I put myself in situations that I never should have. Now I'm lost in my mistakes. Torn, confused, guilty... I don't know what to do. Trying to press on & live with my decisions. A glass half full, or half empty. Just waiting for the other half to be poured. A lonely feeling, a wanting for more. Growing impatient & questioning myself... why??? Tears can cleanse the body, the soul. Washing away pent up emotions or feelings or pain. When you think you are tired of cleaning, more water is drawn. More soap is pumped. Emotions spilling everywhere, scurrying to wipe them up. Strong, but needing my support system. A mechanism to keep me grounded. The only one to truely decipher the most complicated combination of the heart & mind. Young but oh so sure. No matter how many mistakes are made, only one vision. No future brighter. No love greater. Irreplaceable...

LOVE

What is the true definition of love??? Something
so complicated... how can it be defined? An emotion, a state of mind, a strange feeling. Never saw myself giving love a chance. Fear is a very powerful thing. Trying to protect yourself from being hurt or misused. LOVE hit me like a ton of bricks. TIM brought me happiness I never knew I was missing. Now with this space filled, I would be incomplete without him. LOVE keeps me waiting for him. EVERYBODY makes mistakes. He loves me... FLAWS & ALL. I can only do the same for him. Find, enjoy, maintain, cherish... LOVE.

1st TIME
